You know the feeling, you’re looking for something a little different, something that actually feels like you, but the high street keeps offering the same mass-produced pieces you’ve seen a hundred times before. I’ve loved jewellery for as long as I can remember. It started with being allowed to look at my Grandma’s very sparkly collection from the 1920s through to the 60s, and honestly not much has changed. I still can’t walk past a jewellery display without stopping for a good look whether in the V&A or a jewellery shop anywhere from Hull to London and Paris to Kos and anywhere my travels take me in the future.
Over the last 15 years I’ve taught myself everything (and I’m still learning). I started with remodelling some simply strung necklaces, learning to knot between pearls and gemstones as I went, and gradually building up a whole range of techniques.
A lot of trial and error, a lot of joy, and a genuine obsession with gemstones and with making pieces that are wearable, distinctive, and actually affordable.
